Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo Vs Spain

Spain have an early chance as Gavi finds the ball on the edge of the box. He strikes with his first touch, but Pepe is there to deflect the shot behind. CRISTIANO RONALDO has been DROPPED to the bench for Portugal’s Nations League clash against fierce rivals Spain.

Andre and Bernardo Silva lead the line for the visitors, with Bruno Fernandes starting in midfield. For Spain, Alvaro Morata and Ferran Torres start, as does Manchester United target Pau Torres. Spain break through again as Gavi drives into the box, but he trips before getting the shot away.

A positive start for the Red Fury. Portugal have a free kick on the left. Guerreiro sends the ball into the box, but Morata is there to clear any danger. Spain attempt to break through again with a clever move as the ball is chipped to Torres who attempts to play Morata through with a header, but it is sent out for a corner.

Nothing comes of the set piece as the Navigators can comfortably clear. A late goal from Ricardo Horta cancelled out Alvaro Morata’s opener to salvage a point for Portugal in their opening game of this year’s Nations League. The Navigators are now set to face Switzerland on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Spain take on group leaders Czech Republic. He completely dominated the midfield, despite coming up against some of the most experienced players in the game such as Joao Moutinho.

Gavi was the catalyst for Morata’s opening goal as he carried the ball through the middle before setting a brilliant pass to Sarabia, who assisted the striker. He will certainly be one to watch during this competition.
