Video: Cristiano Ronaldo Reveals Best and Favourite Goal of His Career

Cristiano Ronaldo has picked the overhead kick goal he scored for Real Madrid against his former club Juventus in the Champions League 2017/18 season as his favourite and finest goal of his career.

Cristiano Ronaldo startled the world with one of the best goals in Champions League history in the first leg of the quarter-finals.

Real Madrid had a 1-0 lead courtesy to Ronaldo’s strike in the third minute of the game, and the Portuguese superstar increased their lead on 64 minutes.

Marcelo fired a promising cross into the box, but a misunderstanding between Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini saw things go wrong for the Old Lady. Chiellini’s clearing got the ball away from Buffon, and Ronaldo teed it up for Lucas Vazquez from the byline. Buffon, though, saved the Spaniard’s shot. Dani Carvajal then crossed the ball into the box. Buffon could only watch it go in as Ronaldo climbed high and hit it impeccably and imperiously.

It was so fantastic that Juventus supporters in Turin gave him a standing ovation. And now, Ronaldo has declared the goal to be the finest and favourite of his career.

Speaking as an Official Global Brand Ambassador for LiveScore said [via Mirror]: “As you know, I have scored 777 goals in my career. It is a bit unlucky but unfortunately, I have to mention that I scored my favourite ever goal against my current team Juventus F.C. [his overhead kick goal in the UEFA Champions League Quarter-Final 2018] and past my great friend Gianluigi Buffon!

“I would say that is my best and favourite goal that I’ve ever scored in my career.”
