Real Madrid Plotting Mega Double Swoop For World Class Superstars

Florentino Pérez

According to MARCA, Real Madrid are preparing to address their offensive difficulties by making two major acquisitions in the summer transfer window. The Spanish giants are planning a double raid to sign two world-class forwards from the Bundesliga in a “two for the price of one” deal.

It is no longer a secret that Real Madrid is keen to sign Kylian Mbappe. The Merengues did everything they could to sign the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner during the summer transfer window, which just closed. Despite their best efforts, a mega-money agreement with Paris Saint-Germain could not be reached.

Real Madrid are hoping to sign Mbappe on a free transfer next summer because he is currently in the final year of his contract with PSG. Los Blancos are hoping to sign the 22-year-old to a pre-contract agreement before the end of the year, when he will be eligible to negotiate terms with overseas clubs.

Mbappe isn’t the only big-name forward Real Madrid is interested in signing next summer; Erling Haaland is also on their radar. According to the source, Real Madrid is focused on “creating a new Galactico strikeforce” next season by teaming Mbappe with Haaland.

Since his breakout season with Red Bull Salzburg in 2019/20, Haaland, like Mbappe half a decade ago at AS Monaco, has become one of the hottest properties in the transfer market. Since then, he has been with Borussia Dortmund, where he has only gotten better.

Real Madrid has been interested in signing Haaland as a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema for some time. Their terrible financial situation, however, has compelled them to wait until 2022, with rumours stating that they have already reached an arrangement with him for next summer.

According to MARCA, Real Madrid is hoping to lure both Mbappe and Haaland to the Spanish capital next summer in a “two-for-one” deal, with Mbappe perhaps arriving on a free transfer. What remains to be seen is whether the Merengues make any headway in their pursuit of the two in the following months, with the possibility of signing them next summer.
