Real Madrid & Barcelona In Transfer War For Bayern Munich Winger

If the German international rejects his contract extension with the record Bundesliga winners, Real Madrid and Barcelona are poised to join in a transfer fight for him.

Who joined Bayern Munich in 2017, has reached the final 18 months of his current deal, and Sky Germany, through Fichajes, reports that, while the 26-year-old wants to stay, the parties are currently negotiating a wage.

According to Sky Deutschland, there is a growing assumption that the former Arsenal winger would sign a contract, but the two parties are at odds about the remuneration.

Gnabry is thought to view Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane as the bar to beat and does not want to earn less than the trio. For the record, the two players make at least €15 million every season before bonuses.

Gnabry’s stats are far lower, and the player, who has scored at least ten league goals in each of his four Bundesliga seasons with Bayern, feels he is entitled of a deal that reflects his performance.

As a result, there’s no urgency since, unlike Niklas Sule, who will leave Bayern at the conclusion of the season, the 26-year-old is content in Munich.

His choice is to remain in the city since he feels Bayern can help him further improve, and his connection with manager Julian Nagelsmann has never been stronger. More significantly, Nagelsmann is hesitant to let Gnabry go.

Apart from the pay, everything is in Bayern’s favour, but if the unthinkable happens, it’s worth noting that Real Madrid and Barcelona would be among the other great teams looking to seize the chance.

Those sitting in possible suitors’ desks are aware that the departure is very unlikely, but they are nonetheless bracing themselves for a transfer struggle.
