Watch: The Day When Cristiano Ronaldo Silenced the Camp Nou

Over the years, Cristiano Ronaldo has produced many memorable moments on the field, be it for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus or his national team Portugal. Along with his goals, the superstar forward has also produced some iconic celebrations on the field. Among the top is the ‘Calma’ celebration which had done for the first time in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

The celebration is certainly among the most famous on the football field. It was the first time that the Portuguese witnessed a victory over Barcelona in the La Liga, scoring the winner after a splendid assist by Mesut Ozil. Earlier, Sami Khedira had opened the scoring for Los Blancos before Alexis Sanchez equalised in the 70th minute. Ronaldo then struck just three minutes later to win the historic match for his side and also give birth to a legendary celebration.

Back then, Barcelona lost their first game at Camp Nou after 55 matches. Six days later Pep Guardiola announced that he will no longer be associated with Barcelona and when asked about the reason he said, “The reason is simple: four years is enough. I’m drained and I need to fill up. The demand has been very high and a manager must be strong.” The rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo is touted to be the most epic. Now, let’s have a look at the celebration by Cristiano Ronaldo.
