Erik ten Hag got off to the dream start at Manchester United as he watched his side hit Liverpool for four in Bangkok.
The Dutchman named a strong starting line-up comprised exclusively of first-team squad players for United’s pre-season opener, while Jurgen Klopp used the opportunity to blood several youngsters.
United opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Jadon Sancho, before two quickfire goals from Fred and Martial made it 3-0 by half-time.
Both managers made several changes during the match, with Klopp using 32 players in total. Ten Hag used 10 fewer players, and there was concern when David de Gea signalled he would need to come off due to injury in the 68th minute.
Facundo Pellistri, who was introduced at half-time in place of Sancho, rounded off the scoring. United travel to Australia next, with their next match against Melbourne Victory taking place on July 15.
