The 2020-21 Copa del Rey champion will be decided on Saturday when Barcelona meet Athletic Bilbao in Sevilla. Entering the match, both teams are heading in opposite directions.
Barca, aside from the loss in last weekend’s El Clasico, have been fantastic, looking to win the double to end the season. On the other side, Bilbao have failed to win any of their last six games but can validate their season with a trophy.
Lionel Messi looks relaxed as kick off in Sevilla edges ever closer. He’ll be eager to avenge his red card from the Super Cup final in January. If the game tonight is anything like that one then we’re in for a treat!
Athletic Bilbao have eight La Liga titles, 23 Copa Del Rey trophies and three Super Cup wins in their history. Barcelona are cruising now! This time it’s Leo Messi getting in on the action. A lovely exchange with De Jong before slotting the ball into the corner. Simon could only watch and admire as the ball went past him.
It’s an impressive feat for a team that only recruit players who come from the Basque region of Northern Spain and Southern France. The Athletic Bilbao players going through their warm-up routines in preparation for tonight’s Copa Del Rey final.
They’ll be hoping to beat Barcelona to silverware for a second time in four months after victory over the Catalan club in January’s Super Cup final.
