PSG responded emphatically with their classy team goal after 32 minutes and should have gone ahead before the break when Kurzawa was thwarted by a fingertip save from Ter Stegen and Icardi headed just wide from a corner.
Barca had their moments too, Antoine Griezmann showing exceptional pace to sprint towards goal from the halfway line but landing his shot just wide of the far post.
Barcelona haven’t really been able to threaten PSG as they look to get back into this tie. Even with Trincao and Riqui Puig among those to be brought on as subs, PSG have remained in control.
So, to liven things up, Keylor Navas tried to play the ball past Griezmann when he was a couple of yards away and the Frenchman stuck a leg out, almost seeing his block fall into the back of the net. PSG got away with one there.
PSG go ahead now! A ball over the top falls for an onside Alessandro Florenzi to chase and his cross bobbles through to the man Barcelona never want to see on the ball. It’s Kylian Mbappe and he fires in to give his side a lead on the night and a second away goal. It’s now 2-1 to PSG.
Kylian Mbappe. Take a bow. We all wondered if Mbappe would step up in the absence of Neymar, after failing to score at all in last year’s knockouts, and he has done exactly that. The French forward curls in a beautiful effort to round off a counter attack that was driven by Julian Draxler. He has his hat-trick. PSG have a 4-1 lead.
