DE BRUYNE FINDS THE OPENING
That was much more like City. A curled pass over the top found Sterling down the left hand side, he pulled the ball back into the path of De Bruyne just left of the penalty spot. The Belgian opened his right foot and guided the ball into the far corner. Will that break Lyon’s resistance?
Better from City, Jesus wins a free-kick just outside the penalty area. It looked like De Bruyne was going to take the shot on but the referee pulled play back. The Belgian is over another free-kick, five yards or so closer this time…Lyon have a player kneeling behind the wall guarding against the low one.
De Bruyne tries to go goalkeeper’s side with power but it is well over.
City really needed that, I think confidence was fading.
Hold on, though…Cornet goes down in the City area under the challenge of Walker at the other end , but the referee rightly waved it away.
