Manchester United will be looking to end the Premier League season in style when they travel to face Wolves on Sunday afternoon.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are unbeaten in all of their away matches in the league this season and could become just the third team to ever finish an English top-flight campaign without tasting defeat away from home.
United have lost just one of their last seven Premier League meetings with Wolves (W3 D3), going down 2-1 at Molineux in April 2019, while the hosts have lost their last three games on the final day of a league season.
It’s always hard to gauge the truth behind United’s injury news, with Solskjaer once again reiterating it isn’t looking good for Maguire ahead of Wednesday night.
Few fans would actually be surprised if he somehow started in Gdansk. In the worst case scenario it will be Lindelof and either Bailly or Tuanzebe at the back. Today they effectively have a play-off to determine who that is. That injury for Adama sums up Wolves’ misfortune throughout the campaign. He has looked the most likely to do something today for the hosts, but has seen his season end in sad circumstances.
In terms of team news, Daniel James is back in the side but Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire will both miss the clash. A number of youngsters are involved ahead of the Europa League final. Hannibal Mejbri is on the bench and could make his debut.
It looked like Wolves would fancy their chances of winning this game when Man United’s heavily rotated team sheet came out, and they did control most of the early chances.
United have looked like they could be a threat on the counter, and they’ve just scored a lovely goal as Elanga got on the end of a Daniel James cross to score a bullet header:
