Superstar is set to arrive to Manchester United’s Carrington training base on Tuesday for a medical.
Manchester United have signed a £73 million agreement with Bundesliga Club to recruit the winger, whose heroics with England at Euro 2020 this summer have somewhat delayed things.
Sancho is now free to focus on his club football, and the Daily Mail reports that he will travel in Manchester on Tuesday for his long-awaited physical and to finalize the details of his move.
After everything is in order, Sancho intends to go on vacation to regain his breath after a rigorous season, so he will be a late arrival to United’s pre-season camp.
With a move for Sancho almost completed, United’s focus has shifted to filling other gaps in the team. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s next goal is to find a permanent partner for Harry Maguire at center-back.
All indications point to Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane starting alongside Maguire next season. According to Sky Sports News, United has been granted permission to negotiate personal terms with the Frenchman, and they are close to striking a deal.
Varane, who has declined to extend his one-year deal at Real Madrid, is open to joining United this summer, but the move is contingent on reaching an agreement on a transfer cost.
Earlier in the transfer season, Real Madrid were expected to want £80 million for the 28-year-old, but United are reasonably certain that they will not receive anywhere near that amount for a player who will be available for free next year, and are seeking to spend roughly half that amount.
Real are likely to lower their expectations, and the fact that they have allowed United to speak with the player implies that they feel a deal can be reached.
United are also looking for a new midfielder, with Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga at the top of their list.
