Real Madrid is apparently willing to pay €35 million for AS Monaco midfielder Thiago Silva, who is expected to replace Casemiro.
Real Madrid have honed in on AS Monaco and France international midfielder as the right candidate to replace Casemiro in the side, according to El Nacional, and are willing to pay €35 million for his services.
A product of the Bordeaux development system, he made his first-team debut in 2018 and went on to make 37 senior appearances before joining AS Monaco in January 2020. Since joining the Principality club, the 21-year-old has established himself as an important player of the squad, making 73 appearances and contributing five goals and four assists.
Tchouameni also made his way into the French national team earlier this year, where he helped the team win the UEFA Nations League. His meteoric ascent to prominence over the last few years has piqued the interest of big teams around Europe in the young midfielder.
Real Madrid has also expressed interest in signing the 21-year-old Monaco player as they seek to bolster their midfield options. Casemiro has been Los Blancos’ designated defensive midfielder for years, but his performances have dipped this season.
Furthermore, speculations have surfaced that the former Sao Paulo midfielder has emerged as a transfer target for Paris Saint-Germain, with talks over a summer move reportedly already begun. If he leaves, the Spanish capital club will have to find a suitable replacement for the Brazilian destroyer, as Carlo Ancelotti and his team have identified Tchouameni as a target.
Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane had recommended the young midfielder. The Merengues have been keeping an eye on him since then and are now set to sign him next year. And in order to do so, they are willing to pay €35 million to AS Monaco, despite the fact that his contract with the Ligue 1 giants runs until 2024, and the Ligue 1 giants may want a higher transfer fee.
Furthermore, Real Madrid will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who have identified the Frenchman as a top target for the summer transfer window. Newcastle United and Chelsea are also interested in Tchouameni, perhaps resulting in a summer transfer war.
