If the appropriate deal comes their way this summer, Manchester United will sell nearly a dozen senior players.
According to ESPN, nine United players are available for shipment if a good bid is presented.
Clearly, clearing out the defense is a top priority.
Sellable assets include Brandon Williams, Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones, Alex Telles, and Axel Tuanzebe.
Moving ahead with the quintet individually, on the other hand, has its challenges.
Telles is presently sidelined with an ankle injury, while Jones has only recently returned to health after a lengthy absence.
Luke Shaw’s fractured ribs suffered at the European Championships will be assessed.
With Telles already out, the Red Devils may be without a recognised left-back when they meet Leeds United on August 14th.
Tuanzebe is the most likely to leave Old Trafford, as Newcastle United intensifies their pursuit of the defender.
JESSE, JAMES AND ANDREAS
Moving upfield, ESPN reports that Jesse Lingard, Daniel James, and Andreas Pereira may also be sold or loaned out.
West Ham United have not given up on Lingard despite his great stint in London from January through the conclusion of the season.
Pereira, who has always failed to get into United’s first squad, might be on his way out.
James presents an intriguing quandary.
Solskjaer gave the Welshman many starts near the close of 2020/21, and he did well in the Euros.
However, with the signing of Jadon Sancho, the former Swansea City winger will most likely be restricted to cameo and replacement appearances.
WHAT’S MISSING FOR MARTIAL?
Meanwhile, the Martial tale is the most difficult to follow.
The Frenchman missed a significant portion of the previous season owing to a torn knee ligament.
His form has varied since United bought him from Monaco in 2015 for £36 million (BBC).
He should be approaching the prime of his career at the age of 25.
Unfortunately, due to discrepancies and a time of inactivity, that ship may have simply gone by him.
Plenty of teams would still be interested in Martial’s talents, though they may proceed with caution.
