Manchester United are ready to sell midfielder for €20M in the next transfer window. He has been a flop signing of Red Devils.
With eight games since joining the club in the summer, the midfielder has already proven he can be a starter in their star-studded lineup, scoring another goal in the weekend’s 3-0 triumph against Athletico.
That is why not only Flamengo, but also the Brazilian press, are ecstatic about his debut at the club. Even though he has a long time remaining on his loan, we’ve already seen a few reports about the possibility of a permanent move.
When Pereira finalized the deal in August, it was reported that the Rio de Janeiro club would have to spend about €15 million to accomplish the transaction. According to local media, he’d really be a bit more costly.
Today’s UOL, through Lance, has a report claiming that the purchasing clause is actually €20 million. That may happen until the end of June, when Manchester United’s loan expires.
Flamengo’s record signing was Gabriel Barbosa, who was purchased from Inter Milan for €17.5 million. They did so after a loan period in which the player scored 43 goals in one season.
So, despite a good start, Andreas still has to show a lot more for the Rio de Janeiro side to beat that record.
