Arsenal have been offered Aston Villa midfielder.
The 24-year-old’s camp are working on finding him a new club on deadline day after he failed to agree a new Villa contract. The Midlands giants have held extensive talks with Luiz over an extended deal but have yet to secure an agreement. Aston Villa have given the green light to the Brazilian leaving if their £30million asking price is met.
Luiz has also been linked with Liverpool, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid amid speculation a £20m bid is being tabled for him on Thursday. The Brazilian is keen to move to London and Steven Gerrard admitted on Wednesday night the player could leave. Further talks were held in recent hours and negotiations will continue on deadline day.
Luiz has turned out four times in total this term, although just one of those appearances has been as a starter in the league. He has scored seven times and laid on eight assists since he signed for Villa from Man City for around £15million in July 2019.
Arsenal have already added to their midfield numbers this summer with the signings of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira.
The Gunners, who are the only team yet to taste defeat in the Premier League, have also offloaded midfield pair Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira to Marseille and Galatasaray respectively.
Villa’s headline addition in midfield meanwhile has been 22-year-old Frenchman Boubacar Kamara, who joined on a free from Marseille.
