Manchester United’s 2021/22 Champions League campaign is now up and running.
After a shock 2-1 defeat in their first European match of the season versus Young Boys, the Red Devils bounced back against Villarreal on Wednesday evening.
Despite turning in a fairly sub-par team performance, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men secured a 2-1 victory thanks to a brilliant 95th-minute goal from Cristiano Ronaldo.
That strike was the Portuguese superstar’s 136th in Champions League action, a record that defies description.
Donny van de Beek was furious after being dropped as an unused replacement against Villarreal this evening by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Dutchman has made only a few appearances for Manchester United since coming from Ajax last summer, and it’s unclear why Solskjaer doesn’t seem to like him.
There was talk that Van de Beek might depart in the summer, but he chose to stay at United despite the fact that his condition is not better.
Watch the video below to witness Van de Beek’s enraged response, with his teammates appearing to try to calm him down.
