Manchester United, in our opinion, does their greatest job in the junior system. The failure of headline signings has been documented time and time again. Instead, Old Trafford should concentrate on what they do best: developing new players.
At the moment, the Old Trafford academy is brimming with world-class potential. From Hannibal Mejbri to Alejandro Garnacho, the club has a number of prospective first-team players on loan this season.
It’s hardly surprising to see the Red Devils snatching up a few more up-and-comers from British shores. What’s the most recent addition? Toby Collyer, a Brighton-based player, has been brought in.
Toby Collyer has joined Manchester United’s youth team as a replacement.
The scoop comes from Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the deal is done and the contracts have been signed today. The talented midfielder has joined United on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Already capped at England youth level, Collyer has seemingly been identified as a young man with massive potential, with a future first-team career at United a genuine possibility.
There’s no better place to learn your trade as a young footballer than at the Theatre of Dreams. Collyer will know that if he performs, those massive opportunities could be just around the corner.
Now it may be a year or two before we hear this name talked about more regularly, but the sooner he’s at that training ground, the better it’ll be for all involved.
The hard work really starts for Collyer, who is no doubt looking to hit the ground running.
Beating out competition from the other top class young midfielders on the books isn’t easy, but I have complete faith that this budding star can make a positive impact.
