According to 90min, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers wants to sign a former Celtic left-back from Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta in the summer transfer window.
According to the report, Leicester manager Rodgers remains a fan of the left back from their time together at Celtic.
Tierney was a player Rodgers intended to sign from Arsenal in 2020, but he was unable to do so.
According to the source, if Arsenal shows any interest in selling Tierney during the summer transfer window, Rodgers will express his interest and may make a bid.
Real Madrid are also reportedly keen on the 24-year-old Scotland international left-back, who moved to Arsenal from Celtic in the summer of 2019 for £25 million (BBC Sport).
KIERAN TIERNEY UNLIKELY TO LEAVE ARSENAL FOR LEICESTER
In our view, it is very unlikely that Tierney will leave Arsenal for Leicester city in the summer transfer window.
The Scotsman has established himself as an important player in the Arsenal team and is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League. Arsenal are a bigger club than Leicester and are doing much better as well.
In our opinion, there is no reason whatsoever for Tierney to even think of a move to Leicester now.
