5. Xabi Alonso
The Spanish international Xabi Alonso is a proper legend of the game. The midfielder played for the Merseyside club under Rafa Benitez and won the Champions League with the English club.
The Spaniard joined the La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid in 2009 and played under different managers. The former Liverpool star was the engine of the system in the middle of the park. The 37-year old won Champions League with Real Madrid before joining the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in 2014.
However, before joining the German side, Xabi already cemented himself as a legend amongst the Bernabeu faithfuls. With 210 matches for Liverpool and 236 for Los Blancos, the Spaniard managed to establish himself as a legend for both the clubs.
